The Math Genealogy is a dataset of advisor/advisee relations for math going back centuries. It would be very interesting to have those sorts of relationships for all fields.
Great suggestion. I recall seeing a similar database for CS. Would you like to try your hand at a schema for this? It could be similar to that used on /type/person for parent/child relationships.
