You might be interested that I'm exploring the use of Freebase for argument mapping - setting out some area of debate as a series of assertions with connectives ('supports', conflicts with', etc) between them. Current context is the global warming debate. My modelling of this with Freebases Types and Topics is very fluid just now (I just started today!), but do let me know if you are interested in discussing this.
