u can also of course create a bookmarklet, so you can run it on what ever web site u r in, and then it doesn't matter if we view a wikipedia article from within the freebase.

Zotero does look nifty. However, we have been thinking more actively about the second approach you describe. We're not sure yet what the best UI would be, but perhaps you could drag and drop values from the article into the appropriate properties. Would you find it more useful if we displayed the entire Wikipedia article? We've been discussing that too.

although it might b far away in the future, if u ever consider to use some sort of extension/add-in/bookmarklet to automatically import information from the web into freebase, maybe u can use the "translators" of the Zotero project, that already enable you to extract "facts" from complex web pages, and transform them into bibliography citation.

here is a link to Zotero:
http://www.zotero.org/

another approach would be to enable the user to extract the facts from the wiki article you already uploaded. all the user will have to do is to mark and click the "fact" from the text, and the interface will enable him/her to select the property that should use it.

We're working on getting the underlying support for source and attribution information in the system and then to figure out how best to expose it in the UI. There is a balance to be maintained between being complete and being approachable. It certainly should be possible to capture that information if you've got it, but at the same time it shouldn't appear to be too daunting to enter a simple fact if you've got and nothing else to input.

We're still evaluating how central a role the text descriptions that appear in Freebase will play. The focus is definitely more on the structured information at this point, as opposed to being a clearinghouse for all articles on a topic - in fact, you may notice that the Wikipedia blurb can be replaced with an article written by people in the Freebase community. If the Citizendium content is better, it could be used instead as long as it is properly attributed. Thanks for the suggestion.
