Akkar (Arabic: عكار) is a district (qadaa) in the North Governorate, Lebanon. It covers an area of 788 km2 and has a population of 198,174. The capital lies at Halba.
The district is characterized by the presence of a relatively large coastal plain, with high mountains to the east. In 2003, Akkar was no longer a district, but was declared a muhafazah or province with Halba as its capital. The largest city of Akkar is Bebnin and the township of Mish Mish is also located within Akkar.
