Peter joined NEA in 1999 as a Venture Partner. Present NEA board memberships include ProStor Systems and Virtela and, previously, CreekPath Systems, RainFinity, and Troika Networks. He previously served as CEO and Chairman of Exabyte Corporation, which under his leadership grew from no revenue in 1987 to $363 million in 1996 and became the largest company in the world solely dedicated to tape drives and libraries. Prior to that, Peter held numerous executive positions at IBM, including business responsibility for IBM's storage products, management of IBM's worldwide Electronic Typewriter business, and responsibility for the quality of most of IBM's products and business processes. Peter also serves on the boards of Infocus Systems, Western Digital, and China-based SMT. In addition, he is Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship at the University of Colorado Boulder. He frequently speaks on topics such as corporate management, culture, and governance. He was honored as Colorado Business Person of the Year in 1992. Peter received a degree in Engineering from UCLA.
