Abraham Even-Shoshan (Hebrew: אברהם אבן-שושן‎; 1906, Minsk - 1984, Jerusalem) was a Hebrew linguist and lexicographer, recipient of the Israel Prize (1978) and the Bialik Prize (1981). Even-Shoshan was born as Avraham Rosenstein in Minsk, Belarus. Even-Shoshan is a Hebrew translation of his surname. Even-Shoshan created the New Dictionary of the Hebrew Language (1946-1958), which was refined and re-issued in 2004, under the name Even-Shoshan Dictionary.
