Al Williamson (born March 21 1931) is an American cartoonist, comic book artist and illustrator of partly Colombian descent best known for his science-fiction artwork at EC Comics in the 1950s, on Flash Gordon in the 1960s, and the Star Wars film adaptations and newspaper strip in the 1980s, continuing the illustrative tradition of Flash Gordon creator, Alex Raymond.
