Alexander Mackendrick (September 8 1912 - December 22 1993) was a Scottish-American film director and teacher.
Alexander Mackendrick was born in Boston, Massachusetts. He was the only child of Francis Robert Mackendrick and Martha Mackendrick. They had emigrated to the United States from Glasgow in 1911.
