Alva Xar

Alva Xar is the name of a fictional supervillain from the DC Universe. He debuted in Mystery in Space #81 (February 1963) in a story written Gardner Fox and drawn by Carmine Infantino. Alva Xar is a bald, male humanoid native of the planet Rann. 1,000 years before the present time he ruled the planet, but was overthrown.He explicitly ruled the city state of Zared. This city's war with Ranagar devastates much of the planet. Alva places himself in suspended animation in one of Zared's underground storage areas. This is in order to hide from his enemies. He is revived in the present day during one of Rann's many invasions. He intendes to rule Rann with the aid of a new weapon. He first transports the memories of Strange's love, Alanna, into an Earth woman. The intent is to fool Adam into thinking Alanna is on Earth, thus he will find no reason to come back to Rann and oppose Alva.
