Andrews County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. As of 2000, the population is 13,004. Its county seat is Andrews. Andrews is named for Richard Andrews, a soldier of the Texas Revolution. Andrews County is one of 46 prohibition or entirely dry counties in the state of Texas. Andrews County was formed in 1875 from Bexar County.
