Anthony Alvin Anderson (born August 15, 1970) is an American comedian and actor.
Anderson was born in Los Angeles, California, but grew up in nearby Compton, California, the son of Doris, a telephone operator and actress; his stepfather, Sterling Bowman, owns a chain of clothing stores. Anderson is an alumnus of the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts and Howard University. He trained with actors such as Avery Brooks, Ruby Dee and Ossie Davis.
