Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia (Tráiganme la cabeza de Alfredo García) (1974) is a film noir directed by Sam Peckinpah and featuring Warren Oates, made in Mexico on low budget after the commercial failure of Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid (1973). He claimed that of all his films, Bring Me the Head of Alfredo García, his most personal film, was the only one released as he had intended, wherein: American "Bennie", is a gringo pianist living the full, low life in a Mexican brothel. In the event, Bennie stakes everything on the bounty, set by a Mexican cacique, on the head of Alfredo García (who dishonoured him by seducing and abandoning his daughter), and chases up the path to his destiny. On its release in 1974, Bring Me the Head of Alfredo García was universally disapproved by viewers and critics, and failed at the box office.
