Calvert County is a county located in the U.S. state of Maryland. It is on a peninsula, bordered on the east by the Chesapeake Bay, and on the west by the Patuxent River. Calvert County is considered to be part of the Southern Maryland region. As of 2004, the population was about 86,475.
