Camille Francis Gravel, Jr. (August 10, 1915 -- December 23, 2005), was a Louisiana, Democratic politician. It is widely believed that Gravel (pronounced Grah-VEL), a native of Alexandria, would have been the attorney general in 1961 under President John F. Kennedy had Kennedy not selected his own brother, Robert F. Kennedy.
