CBNT is the television call sign for the CBC's television station in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. CBNT's terrestrial signal is on channel 8, while the cable system in St. John's carries the station on channel 3. CBNT also has an auxiliary transmitter in St. John's broadcasting on channel 12 under the callsign CBNT-42. The station's broadcasting operations are located at 95 University Avenue along the Prince Philip Parkway in St. John's. CBNT's schedule is the same as that of CBHT, with the exception of its local newscast, the restored CBC News: Here and Now (see below), Living Newfoundland and Labrador and Land and Sea. CBNT went on the air on October 1, 1964, as previous CBC affiliate CJON switched networks to CTV. CBNT began broadcasting from the Browning Harvey Building on Water Street West in downtown St. John's.
