Mr. Freeze, real name Dr. Victor Fries (pronounced as Victor "Frees" or "Freeze"), is a DC Comics supervillain, an enemy of Batman. Created by Bob Kane, he first appeared in Batman #121 (February 1959).
He was first introduced as Mr. Zero, later to Mr. Freeze. The gimmick for Mr. Freeze was portrayed as a cold and ice-themed crimes were his specialty. For his character, Freeze wears a special armor suit to keep his body at a cold temperature to survive. In the 1966 Batman television series, he was portrayed by three actors, George Sanders, Otto Preminger and Eli Wallach. In the 1992 animated series, Batman: The Animated Series, he was introduced in the "Heart of Ice" episode, which explains Freeze's back story, as a brilliant scientist known as Dr. Victor Fries, who is experienced in cryogenics, which allows him to preserve his ill wife, Nora Fries.
