The National Book Critics Circle (NBCC) is an American non-profit organization of approximately seven hundred active book reviewers. Jane Ciabattari is the current president. The NBCC was founded in New York City in 1974. It holds an annual award entitled the National Book Critics Circle Award, in which the best book in five categories are honored: fiction, general nonfiction, biography/autobiography, poetry, and criticism.
