Rail shooter topic

Rail Shooter is a genre of shoot 'em up video games, deriving from the 'on-rails' movement featured in such games. In Shoot 'em up that the term is applicable to, control over movement is generally possible to the extent of allowing the player to dodge incoming attacks. The player is however propelled constantly forward and must follow the linear (‘rail’) levels. In this sense the term is similar to ‘scrolling’ as used in scrolling shooter.
