Roger Deakins, A.S.C., B.S.C. (born May 24, 1949 in Torquay, Devon, England) is a BAFTA Award winning English cinematographer best known for his work on the films of the Coen Brothers. While growing up in Torquay as a young adolescent, Roger spent most of his time in and out of school focusing on his primary interest: painting.
