He studied at Ankara Science High School and the Middle East Technical University. His research interests are Yang-Mills gauge theories, supersymmetry, supergravity, quaternion and octonion algebras, spin structures, generalised theories of gravity, cosmological solutions, integrable system and phase space quantisation.
