The New Danger is the long-awaited second album by Mos Def, released on October 19, 2004. It features not only hip hop but rock, blues and soul songs as well. Track 5, "The Rape Over" was removed from the second pressing of the album due to comments such as "some tall Israeli is runnin' this rap shit", a reference to Lyor Cohen, former head of Def Jam.
