Timothy James Pawlenty (born November 27, 1960) is the 39th and current Governor of Minnesota and a member of the Republican Party. He has been speculated as one of John McCain's potential Vice Presidential candidate selections.
In the Minnesota gubernatorial election of 2002, as the Republican nominee, he was elected Governor of Minnesota and inaugurated on January 6, 2003. He was reelected in 2006, and his second term will end on January 3, 2011.
