Thomas N. "Tom" Nugent (February 24, 1913 – January 19, 2006) was an NCAA Division I college football head coach, sportscaster, public relations man, and inventor of the I formation. He coached at the Florida State University, the University of Maryland, College Park, and the Virginia Military Institute.
He was the 20th head college football coach for the Virginia Military Institute Keydets located in Lexington, Virginia and he held that position for four seasons, from 1949 until 1952. His...
