Big Horn County is a county located in the U.S. state of Wyoming. The population was 11,461 at the 2000 census. The county seat is Basin. Big Horn County was organized in 1896. The current sheriff of Big Horn County is Ken Blackburn. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 3,159 square miles (8,182 km²), of which, 3,137 square miles (8,125 km²) of it is land and 22 square miles (57 km²) of it (0.70%) is water.
