Webster County is a county located in the U.S. state of Iowa. As of 2000, the population is 40,235. Its county seat is Fort Dodge.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 718 square mile (1,860 km²), of which, 715 square miles (1,852 km²) of it is land and 3 square miles (7 km²) of it (0.39%) is water.
Webster County was established January 15, 1851. It was named after Daniel Webster, an American statesman.

The racial makeup of the county was 93.39% White, 3.39% Black or African American, 0.30% Native American, 0.66% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 1.10% from other races, and 1.15% from two or more races. 2.35% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
