Tim Sale (b. 1956) is an American Eisner Award-winning comic book artist. He is primarily known for his collaborations with writer Jeph Loeb. Tim Sale was born on May 1 1956 in Ithaca, New York, but spent most of his early life in Seattle, Washington. (He moved there with his family at age six.) He attended the University of Washington for two years before moving to New York to attend the School of Visual Arts as well as the comics workshop run by artist John Buscema. Before he graduated from SVA, Sale returned to Seattle. He began doing art for the series Myth Adventures in 1983, and was soon working on Thieves' World. After meeting Matt Wagner and Diana Schutz (who were then creating and working for Comico Comics) and Barbara Randall of DC Comics at the San Diego Comicon, Sale's career began in earnest.
