Nas, Foxy Brown, AZ, and Nature Present The Firm: The Album

Nas Escobar, Foxy Brown, AZ, and Nature Present The Firm: The Album is the only album released by hip hop supergroup The Firm, consisting of Nas, Foxy Brown, AZ, and Nature. The Firm was active from 1996 to 1998. It was the brainchild of its producers: Nas (or "Nas Escobar" as he referred to himself at the time), Steve Stoute, Dr. Dre, and the Trackmasters. Dre and the Trackmasters' Poke & Tone split production duties. Stoute, as executive producer, brought in a number of guests to pad the album, most likely hoping to spin-off successful careers for several of the newcomers. The album was certified gold despite lacking a charting single, but was not critically successful, and each Firm member went back to their solo career. The members have rarely spoken about The Firm since, though Nas mentioned The Firm in the song "Hustlers" on his 2006 album Hip Hop is Dead.
