Kevin James O'Connor (born November 15, 1963) is an American actor known for playing character roles in major studio movies such as The Mummy, Clive Barker's Lord of Illusions, F/X2 and as Igor in the 2004 movie Van Helsing. He is a favorite of writer/director Stephen Sommers, who usually casts him in his films.
O'Connor was born in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Patricia Connelly, a teacher, and James O'Connor, a police officer. He also has a brother, Christopher O'Connor who teaches art and Latin at Ted Lenart Regional Gifted Center on Chicago's Southside. He trained as an actor at the Goodman School of Drama at DePaul University. In Chicago, he appeared in the stage production El Salvador by Raphael Lima (1989) at the Steppenwolf Theatre. He made his New York, off-Broadway debut in The Colorado Catechism by Vincent J. Cardinal (1990) at the Circle Repertory Company.
