Neil Young
| Also known as |
- Neil Young
Neil Young is the solo debut album by Canadian musician Neil Young. It was the first album after Young's departure from Buffalo Springfield.
All songs written by Neil Young, except "String Quartet From Whiskey Boot Hill," written by Jack Nitzsche.
Although many sources cite that Young's solo debut was released in January 1969, this is incorrect. The album was originally released on November 12, 1968. In January 1969 the album was partially remixed and the 'Neil Young' header was added to the album cover, as before it had only been the portrait. Copies of the original 1968 version are difficult to come by, and are highly sought after. Also, the original version has never been released on compact disc.
This album was originally released on Neil Young's birthday.
