Dave Simmonds (born 25 October 1939 in London, died October 23 1972 in Rungis, France) is a British former Grand Prix motorcycle road racer. In 1969, he won the FIM 125 cc road racing World Championship. The victory marked the first world championship for Kawasaki. Simmonds was killed in 1972, in a fire caused by an exploding gas cylinder in his caravan, while attending the French Grand Prix. full article at wikipedia
