Kennedy, and paternal grandmother of assassinated US president John F. Kennedy and his brothers Robert F. Kennedy and Ted Kennedy. Mary Augusta Hickey was the daughter of James Hickey, a prominent saloon keeper, and Margaret Field Hickey. Both her parents immigrated from County Cork, Ireland.
