"I just received a similar error: "We're sorry, there was a problem saving your input" ..."
I was doing some additional work on last week's "Alec's data task for the week" and was specifically entering album data for Jon Finn. The wikipedia article referenced two alboums so I entered one called "Don't Look So Serious" which auto completed so I selected it. When I his saave I got the "problem saving your input" error message and this detail:

I'm running Windows XP in the office using Firefox 2.0.0.3.
I tried also entering the album "wicked" which also autocompleted and had the same error message when trying to save.
