James B. Steinberg is an American academic and political advisor. He served as Deputy National Security Advisor to Bill Clinton during his second administration. Currently, Steinberg is Dean of the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs in Austin, Texas. He was educated at Yale University and Harvard College.
