The Graveyard Book is an upcoming novel by Neil Gaiman, mentioned in the introduction to Fragile Things. The title is an homage to The Jungle Book. In the book, a boy whose parents are killed is adopted by the occupants of a graveyard (as opposed to the animals in a jungle) and raised by them. Gaiman has finished writing it and the release date is currently set for September 30, 2008 in the USA by HarperCollins. Cover by Dave McKean.
There will also be a limited edition of The Graveyard Book with a different McKean cover as well as interior illustrations by McKean produced by Subterranean Press. An audiobook is also planned and can be pre-ordered on amazon.com.
