Flight of the Conchords

Flight of the Conchords is a television comedy series that follows the adventures of the Flight of the Conchords, a folk duo from New Zealand, as its members seek fame and success in New York City. The show portrays a fictionalized version of the real-life duo, Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie, who play themselves. The show was created by James Bobin, Clement, and McKenzie. Bobin serves as the show's main writer and director. The first episode of the series aired on HBO on June 17, 2007. The series revolves around the day-to-day lives and loves of two musicians, Jemaine and Bret (Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie, playing fictionalised versions of themselves), who have uprooted themselves from their native New Zealand to try to make it big as a novelty folk duo in New York City.
