Matt Reeves

Matt Reeves (born April 27, 1966 in Rockville Centre, New York) is an American film writer, director and producer. Born in Rockville Centre, New York, and raised in Los Angeles, Reeves has been making movies since he was eight years old, directing friends with a wind-up camera. At 13, he spotted amateur films similar to his own airing on a cable access channel and inquired about getting his projects on television. The station agreed to air Matt's movie and also introduced him to another filmmaker, 13-year-old J.J. Abrams, now his co-creator and executive producer of Felicity (TV series). Although the two attended separate high schools and colleges, they always shared material and maintained a strong creative and personal relationship. While attending film school at the University of Southern California, Reeves cowrote a script that was sold to Warner Bros. Studios and eventually became Under Siege 2: Dark Territory.
