Shan has over 12 years of product management and R&D experience in the areas
of Operating Systems, Compilers and Distributed Computing. Prior to co-founding
RingCube, Shan held senior product management and engineering position at
Borland where he was responsible for design and development of highly scalable
distributed computing architectures.
Prior to Borland, Shan held product and
engineering management roles at Healtheon, later acquired by WebMD. Prior to
that, Shan worked as R&D engineer at Lucent Technologies building real-time
operating systems for Telecom switches.
Shan is also an adjunct faculty
at the Computer Engineering department at San Jose State University where he
teaches graduate level courses on wireless technologies and distributed
computing. Shan is a co-author of Wireless Java Programming for Enterprise
Applications published by John Wiley & Sons. Shan has been nominated by
Silicon Valley Business Journal for 40 entrepreneurs to watch under 40 for year
2007. Shan has several patents filed in the areas of Operating System
Virtualization and mobile computing. Shan holds masters degree in Computer
Engineering from San Jose State University.
