Saw V is the upcoming fifth installment in the ''Saw'' film series of films. The film is set to be released on October 24, 2008, following the tradition of the Saw films, being released every year on the Friday before Halloween. Unlike the previous three installments, Saw V has not been directed by Darren Lynn Bousman, but instead by David Hackl, who was the production designer of Saw II, Saw III and Saw IV.
Saw V is being written by Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan, and the film went into production after Christmas 2007. Filming began on March 17 in Toronto, and principal photography concluded on April 28. Saw V finished filming by May 2nd and had started post-production.
