There are some wines that are worth waiting for; this 2007 Pinot Gris is one of those wines. The fruit came from one of the older blocks at Kramer Vineyard located in the foot hills of the coast range. Being in the rain shadow of the mountains the fruit came through harvest in good shape. It was some of the cleanest fruit we saw, although it was a little swollen by rain, we have crafted a wonderful wine from it. It leads on the palate with a burst of citrus that quickly leads into pear. A dry wine it lingers on the palate well after the initial taste.
Serve with fish, seafood, chicken, or that picnic of fruit and cheeses.
