Rhodesli is used to describe the Sephardic Jews from the Island of Rhodes, formerly of the Ottoman Empire, now a part of Greece. Many of the Jewish residents of the island emigrated to the United States, Argentina, South Africa and the Netherlands in the first half of the 20th Century. During WWII, when the island fell under the rule of the Nazis, the entire remaining population was sent to the concentration camp at Auschwitz. Very few survived to return to the island.
